Men's Ashes 2027
Five grounds host the series across England, from mid-June to early August. Each sits in a different location — some central, some out of town — and the differences affect how you plan accommodation, transport and matchday logistics.
The five venues are spread across four cities. Three are within or close to a city centre — Trent Bridge is a walk from Nottingham station, Lord's is a walk from St John's Wood tube, and Kia Oval is served by two Underground stations. Two require more transport planning: Edgbaston is south-west of Birmingham city centre, and Utilita Bowl is outside Southampton in West End.
Choosing where to stay involves considering which station you will arrive at, how far it is from there to the ground on match day, and where you need to travel next. For visitors covering multiple Tests, the sequencing of city stays can affect both cost and convenience.
London hosts two Tests at grounds in different parts of the city — Lord's in the north-west and Kia Oval in Kennington — so visitors attending both should plan their accommodation and match-day logistics separately for each.
Nottingham
First Test
18–22 June 2027
Trent Bridge sits in West Bridgford, across the River Trent from Nottingham city centre. It is reachable on foot from the station under normal conditions — a practical choice for visitors arriving by rail who want to walk to the ground on match day. The city centre and West Bridgford both serve as sensible bases, with different trade-offs for accommodation and evening options.

Second Test
30 June–4 July 2027
Lord's is in St John's Wood in north-west central London. St John's Wood station on the Jubilee line is a short walk from the Grace Gates. Accommodation close to the ground — Marylebone, Maida Vale, St John's Wood — is well positioned for a Lord's match day. Note that Lord's and Kia Oval are in different parts of the city: visitors attending both Tests will need to plan two separate match-day journeys.
Birmingham
Third Test
8–12 July 2027
Edgbaston is south-west of Birmingham city centre and is not within walking distance of the city's main stations. A match-day shuttle bus has operated from central Birmingham for previous major matches at the ground; whether it runs for the 2027 Ashes Test should be confirmed via Edgbaston and Transport for West Midlands closer to the match. Accommodation in the city centre or around Edgbaston itself both work well.
Southampton
Fourth Test
21–25 July 2027
The Utilita Bowl is in West End, outside Southampton city centre — this is the first men's Ashes Test to be held here. The ground is not within walking distance of central Southampton. A match-day rail shuttle from Southampton Airport Parkway and Hedge End has operated at previous major matches; confirm whether it runs for the 2027 Test as the fixture approaches. Transport planning matters more for this venue than for the city-centre grounds.

Fifth Test
29 July–2 August 2027
Kia Oval is in Kennington, south of the River Thames. Oval and Kennington stations on the Northern line are close to the ground; Vauxhall on the Victoria line and National Rail is also a short walk. As the final Test of the series, the Kia Oval is a natural end-point for visitors planning a return journey from London after the match. Note that Lord's and Kia Oval are in different parts of the city.
For each Test, the most useful factors when choosing accommodation are: the nearest station for your arrival route, whether the ground is walkable or requires a bus or shuttle, and where you are travelling to next. For city-centre grounds like Lord's and Trent Bridge, staying close to the ground reduces matchday logistics. For out-of-centre grounds like Edgbaston and Utilita Bowl, staying near the shuttle or transport connection is the practical approach.
