Airport, transfers and onward travel

Distance: The airport is roughly 20 km east of the city, usually 20 to 30 minutes by road outside peak traffic. Newlands sits in the southern suburbs, a short drive from the airport road.
Getting around: There is no rail link from the airport, so ride-hailing, metered taxis or a hire car are the way in. The MyCiTi bus covers the City Bowl and Atlantic Seaboard once you are in town.
Onward connections: Frequent flights connect Cape Town with Johannesburg and Durban; the smaller venues are reached with a change in Johannesburg. For Paarl's Boland Park, most visitors drive out from Cape Town rather than fly.
